Eastchester Asian Culture Celebration at AH & Greenvale on 05/10/24

On May 10th, several ECPA mothers attended the Eastchester Asian Culture Celebration held in AH and Greenvale respectively.

ECPA mother Bonnie gave a 15-minute presentation on Chinese culture to third grade students (100+) in Greenvale, especially the two stories of the Returning the Jade Intact to Zhao and the Empty City Strategy. The children liked it very much and listened very attentively. After finishing, a little white girl said: Chinese culture is cool! Bonnie said, "I feel that all the efforts are worth it. I hope to plant the seeds of liking Chinese culture in the hearts of these children, whether they are Chinese or not."

ECPA board members Yiwen and Weiwei attended AH's activities at the same time. DG of the culture celebration committee first introduced what AAPI stands for, and then Weiwei and Yiwen introduced some festivals with Chinese characteristics, especially the Dragon Boat Festival (06/10/24). Yiwen also played the Chinese flute at the scene. After the Japanese mother introduced the school and cartoons in Japan, Yiwen and Weiwei asked some interesting questions and gave small gifts to the participating children. The atmosphere was quite good.

Thanks to Bonnie, Yiwen and Weiwei for taking time out of their busy schedules to volunteer for this event! We hope more parents and children can join us to introduce and spread Chinese culture！

在五月十日，ECPA的几位成员妈妈参加了分别在AH和Greenvale举行的Eastchester Asian Culture Celebration。

ECPA会员妈妈Bonnie在Greenvale向三年级学生（100+) 作了一个15分钟的关于中国文化的presentation，特别是介绍了完璧归赵和空城计两个故事。小朋友们都很喜欢，听得很专心。完了之后，一位白人小姑娘说： Chinese culture is cool ! Bonnie说“感觉所有的努力都是值得的。希望在这些小朋友们的心里种下喜欢中华文化的种子，不论他们是不是华裔。”

ECPA董事Yiwen和Weiwei同时去参加了AH的活动。culture celebration committee 的 DG先介绍了AAPI代表什么，然后Weiwei和Yiwen介绍了一些中国特色的节日，特别是后面的端午节（06/10/24），Yiwen也在现场吹奏了中国笛子。在日本妈妈介绍完日本小朋友的学校和动画片之后，然后Yiwen和Weiwei问了些有趣的问题，并给参与的小朋友发了小礼物，气氛相当好。
